Three strategies that completely changed how I play pickleball โ and I wish I'd known them sooner. ๐ฏ After almost 7 years of competitive play and coaching, these are the three things that made the biggest difference in my game: 1๏ธโฃ The Second Bounce โ Most players rush to the ball after the first bounce and get jammed. Waiting for the ball to reach its second bounce apex gives you the space and timing for a clean swing. This one concept fixes so many unforced errors. 2๏ธโฃ Target Your Weaknesses โ Stop compensating with your strong shots. If your backhand or overhead is weak, that's exactly what you need to drill. I learned badminton just to fix my overheads. You have to be honest about what's broken. 3๏ธโฃ Practice Against Lower-Level Players โ New skills need reps without pressure. Play with 3.0s and 3.5s to build confidence in your weak shots before you test them against 4.5s. This is how you build real consistency. At the kitchen line, control matters more than power. And control starts with preparation. ๐ Subscribe for pickleball coaching, drills, and tips: @CliffPickleball ๐ฏ Break through to 4.0 with the Cliff 4.0 Breakthrough System โ structured 90-day training: https://cliffpickleball.com ๐ธ Get the Cliff Pickleball Signature Paddle (5.5-inch handle, Gen 3 technology): https://robustpickleball.com #pickleball #pickleballtips #pickleballstrategy #pickleballdrills #pickleballcoaching #pickleballpractice 0:00 - 3 strategies that changed my pickleball game 0:24 - Strategy 1: The second bounce (stop getting jammed) 3:14 - Strategy 2: Target your weaknesses (stop compensating) 4:58 - Strategy 3: Practice with lower-level players 7:12 - Why this works 7:21 - Subscribe for more coaching 7:45 - The Cliff 4.0 Breakthrough System 9:35 - My signature paddle Source: Cliff Pickleball
