In this video, we break down lob retrieval in pickleball, including who should retrieve a lob and how proper positioning can help your team recover more effectively. When your team gets lobbed, one of the biggest questions is: Who should go back for the ball? While the answer can depend on mobility and individual skill sets, a commonly applicable strategy is for the player diagonal from where the lob is headed to retrieve it. In other words, when your partner gets lobbed, you retrieve the ball. Although the diagonal player may have slightly farther to travel, their path can be easier to execute. Instead of turning completely around and tracking the ball overhead, they can make a quarter turn and move toward the ball while maintaining better court awareness. Learning effective pickleball lob retrieval can help you and your partner improve communication, positioning, and overall doubles strategy. 👇 Explore the official rulebook, player resources, and everything you need to continue improving your pickleball game. 📘 Official Pickleball Rulebook https://usapickleball.org/rules/ 🎥 Pickleball Blog https://usapickleball.org/strategies/ 🎉 Join or Renew Your USA Pickleball Membership https://usapickleball.org/membership/ 📌 Don’t forget to Like, Comment, and Subscribe for more pickleball tips, drills, strategies, and ways to improve your game. #USAPickleball #PickleballTips #PickleballStrategy #PickleballLob #PickleballDoubles #PickleballDrills #PickleballTraining #PickleballSkills #Pickleball Source: USA Pickleball Videos
