Nike Vapor 12 Review – Best Lightweight Women’s Pickleball Shoes
Nike has long been a go-to for court shoes, and the Vapor 12s didn’t disappoint. Right away, I noticed how light and responsive they felt which is perfect for quick movement on the pickleball court. The Air Zoom cushioning provides solid underfoot support, and I appreciated the new rubber compound around the toe, which helps prevent early wear in high-friction areas.
The shoe features a firm foot frame with a cushioned insole, offering both structure and comfort. Engineered mesh across high-wear zones adds durability without sacrificing breathability.
What worked:
- Super lightweight and responsive feel
- Excellent stability and cushioning
- Durable toe protection and targeted mesh reinforcement
What could be better:
- Slight break-in period due to initial stiffness
- Some areas show wear faster than others
New Balance FuelCell 996v6 Review – Best for Speed and Stability
Built for speed and endurance, the FuelCell 996v6 is New Balance’s latest take on a responsive, performance-driven court shoe. This version features a higher collar and a tighter heel lockdown than previous models, giving added stability during quick lateral movements.
The shoe is lightweight with a stiff frame and provides great durability in high-wear areas. It has a propulsive feel that’s perfect for players who like to stay on their toes and move aggressively on court. That said, the fit runs narrow so if you have even slightly wider feet, go for the wide version.
It also comes in several colorways, from classic neutrals to more eclectic, fashion-forward options.
What worked:
- Super responsive and fast underfoot feel
- Great heel support and lockdown
- Durable construction in high-stress areas
- Backed by a 6-month outsole guarantee
- Wide range of color options
What could be better:
- Feels stiff with minimal cushioning
- Standard fit runs quite narrow
THE ROGER Pro by On Review – Sleek & Responsive Pickleball Shoes
THE ROGER Pro is On’s first-ever tennis competition shoe, created in collaboration with Roger Federer and it definitely brings the speed. It features a 100% carbon fiber speedboard for maximum energy return, and the midfoot cage locks your foot in place for solid support. The tread pattern grips the court well, and the heel-to-toe drop is 10mm for added momentum.
The colorways are more classic and clean, mostly white and ivory with subtle hints of color.
I personally liked this shoe, it felt fast and light, and as someone who already loves OnClouds, this is a big upgrade from their previous model. That said, it runs small, especially in the toe box. I had to go up one full size because my big toe was getting squished, and the shoe feels a little firm underfoot at first.
What worked:
- Super responsive with great energy return
- Secure fit with midfoot cage
- Clean, classic design
- Big improvement from previous On models
What could be better:
- Runs small in the toe box, consider sizing up
- Carbon plate can feel a bit firm at first
ASICS Gel Resolution X Review – Best Pickleball Shoes for Comfort & Support
These might just be number one on my all-time list. The ASICS Gel Resolution X checks every box: lightweight, comfortable, supportive, and stylish. They come in a wide range of colors and styles, with multiple width options, which makes them a favorite for players who want both performance and personalization. It’s no surprise pros like Anna Bright wear these.
I especially love how accommodating the toe box is which is great for players with longer toes or anyone who needs a little extra room up front. The cushioning in the midsole is solid without feeling bulky, and the lateral support is excellent for side-to-side movement. If you prefer a more snug or locked-in fit, consider sizing down half a size.
What worked:
- Super lightweight and fast-feeling
- Great lateral support
- Roomy toe box for comfort
- Tons of colorways and width options
- Pro-player approved
What could be better:
- Slightly looser fit, size down for a snug feel
Next up is the Mizuno Wave Enforce Tour 2 AC, a standout when it comes to comfort and support. The midsole cushioning is exceptional, making this a great option for anyone dealing with foot pain or plantar fasciitis. Mizuno’s tech delivers a stable, secure feel without sacrificing comfort.
As someone who struggles with foot pain, I found this to be one of the most supportive shoes I’ve ever worn. It’s not the lightest shoe out there, but I’ll take that tradeoff any day for how good my feet felt post-match.
It does have a slightly wider toe box, which could feel roomy if you have narrow feet, and there’s a longer break-in period. That said, it holds up well over time and even comes with a 6-month outsole warranty.
What worked:
- Excellent cushioning, great for foot pain
- Stable and supportive all around
- Feels great even after long sessions
- 6-month outsole warranty
What could be better:
- Heavier than speed-focused shoes
- Longer break-in period
Selkirk CourtStrike Pro Review – Best Pickleball-Specific Shoe for Women
Next up is my current favorite: the Selkirk CourtStrike Pro. This shoe was designed from the ground up specifically for pickleball and it shows. With a grippy outsole, exceptional multi-directional traction, and flexible support, it’s built for the unique demands of the game.
The first thing I noticed was how light it felt while still offering plenty of support. Unlike almost every other shoe I’ve tried, my heel stays locked in place the entire time with no sliding, ever. It’s also helped relieve some of my shin pain thanks to the stability and cushioning throughout.
Selkirk pro Rachel Rohrabacher has been wearing these recently, and she’s proven you can cover every inch of the court in them. I’ve tossed mine in my bag, dragged them around, and they’ve held up beautifully. Super durable.
What worked:
- Lightweight but still supportive
- Incredible heel lockdown, no slipping
- Helps reduce shin discomfort
- Designed specifically for pickleball
- Durable and travel-friendly
What could be better:
- Slightly narrow fit, may not work for wider feet

Final Thoughts – Choosing the Right Women’s Pickleball Shoes
Overall, the ASICS Gel Resolution X and Selkirk CourtStrike Pro stood out as the best women’s pickleball shoes of 2025. Whether you’re looking for cushioning to help with foot pain, lightweight speed for competitive play, or a shoe designed specifically for pickleball, this list covers every type of player.
The ASICS wins for style, comfort, and lightweight performance there’s a reason Anna Bright wears them. And the Selkirk stands out with major perks as a shoe made specifically for pickleball, offering serious cushioning and heel stability.
The New Balance FuelCell and Nike Vapor 12 were both strong contenders, lightweight, fast, and reliable—but they didn’t feel quite as well-rounded as my top two.
If you need extra support or deal with foot pain, the Mizuno Wave Enforce Tour 2 is the one. The cushioning is unmatched and my feet felt amazing after long sessions.
Last on my list (but still solid) is THE ROGER Pro by On. It’s definitely an upgrade from their last model and great for those wanting a sleek, responsive feel but the tight toe box and lack of plush support bumped it down for me personally.
At the end of the day, all of these shoes were well-built, and any of them could seriously benefit a player depending on what they’re looking for. Everyone has individual needs when it comes to footwear, and I’m thankful there’s such a wide variety of options to cater to every style, shape, and level of play.
