Asia Federation of Pickleball Welcomes the Unification of the World Pickleball Federation (WPF) and the International Pickleball Federation (IPF)

Singapore – 20 June 2025: The Asia Federation of Pickleball (AFP), headquartered in Singapore, proudly announces its full support for the historic unification of the World Pickleball Federation (WPF) and the International Pickleball Federation (IPF) into a single, global governing body for the sport of Pickleball.

This unification was officially endorsed at a Special General Meeting (SGM) convened on 14 June 2025, where all participating AFP member countries unanimously supported the merger and agreed to align with the new global structure. This consensus demonstrates Asia’s collective commitment to unity and progressive governance for Pickleball.

The merger of these two bodies brings together the strengths of both — combining a focus on alignment with IOC governance standards and a community-driven approach — to form a unified international platform committed to the future of the sport.

“We pay tribute to the many individuals and leaders behind both IPF and WPF who have served the sport with dedication, integrity, and heart,” said Mr. Hogan Lai, Chairman of the Asia Federation of Pickleball. “Their collective contributions have made this merger possible and laid the groundwork for a stronger, more unified future for global Pickleball. AFP fully supports this new direction and is committed to playing an active role with the transition NewCo in shaping the sport’s development in Asia and beyond.”
